  Kenzo
Fashion designer born 1939, Takada Kenzo, was one of the first males to attend Tokyo's Bunka Fashion College, as the college primarily allowed only females. After graduating with limited funds, Kenzo had to mix fabrics from flea sales with bold fabrics to make one garment. In 1970, he opened his first store "Jungle Jap". He won the Fashion Editor Club of Japan's prize. His men's collection was launched in 1983 and in 1988, he launched women's perfumes, including Kenzo de Kenzo, Parfum d'ete, Le monde est beau and L'eau de Kenzo. He launched a men's perfume in 1991. Kenzo retired in 1999, leaving the fashion house to his assistants.
